In this video, Lowe’s home improvement expert, Mike Kraft, demonstrates howto install fence posts and hardware for chain link fencing. To watch theprevious videos in this series and to find the printable instructions for thisvideo, visit www.Lowes.com The great thing about chain link fencing is that youcan dig all the fence post holes at once. The manufacturer will recommend thespacing in between post holes, but it should never exceed 10 feet on-center.Once the post holes are ready, it is time to mark the posts. Typically, theposts should be the height of the fabric, minus 2 inches. For terminal or endposts, it should be the height of the fabric plus 2 inches. Now you can set theposts in the holes, first adding gravel and then making sure the mark is levelwith the ground. Next, set the post, adding concrete until it is 2 inches belowground level. Continue adding posts down your layout line. Once the post holeconcrete is set, you are ready to add the chain link fence hardware. For theterminal post hardware, add tension bands and bolts. Make sure the flat surfaceof the band is on the fabric side of the fence. The number of tension bands youwill need is the height of the fence in feet, minus one. For corner posts, addan extra set of bands for the adjacent run of fencing. Follow by installing thetop rail bands, cups and bolts. If installing on a corner post, alternate theends cups – bottom one up, top one down. Finally, add the post caps to theterminal … Video Rating: 5 / 5

for a 4′ fence set the terminal posts at 4′3″ set the line posts at 46″. dont buy the lowes junk the pipe and chainlink are thin grade materials. you can get contractor grade materials through a fence company for the same price or cheaper. Welded gates are much better than them junk bent frame gates. If your setting the posts in clay type soil dont put gravel at the bottom of the hole. no need to use those stupid braces.
